About Us
Smith-Karng Architecture, Inc. was opened in 2001 in San Francisco, California and is a full-service architectural firm with 10 employees, all of whom have dedicated experience with hospital renovations and the OSHPD regulatory review process. We provide architectural and design services for renovations, adaptive re-use of existing facilities, installations and relocations of specialized medical equipment, life safety and other infrastructure upgrades, master plans, and temporary emergency equipment.
Strategy
Our strategy is to work together with the state agencies as early as possible in the design process, be proactive in solving issues early in the design process to prevent costly change orders during construction and expedite the project approvals when time is short. Collectively, the team has completed over 500 OSHPD approved projects. We have worked with OSHPD since our inception in 2001and have a strong working relationship with the staff which allows us to communicate directly.
